Leach Field Repair With White Knight System

Septic Preservation Services were contacted by a customer in Acushnet who had noticed sewage smells and damp patches in their backyard so were concerned that they may have a septic problem. Further discussion revealed that they had noticed slow drains and much greener grass in their backyard for a while but had not realized that these are also signs of a septic problem. The reason for their leach field failure is biological clogging. This is the development of a biomat beneath the leachfield that eventually prevents the liquid or effluent from entering the underlying soil. This biomat is a combination of fine organic solids that have been carried out of the septic tank and the remnants of anaerobic bacteria. These bacteria originate in the human intestinal tract and enter the septic system with the waste products. 95% of all leach field failures are biological. We will repair their leach field by installing the White Knight system. The White Knight system creates an aerobic environment within the septic system and provides a large surface area for the growth of a specialized bacterial colony. As the bacteria multiply, they consume the organic material coming into the septic tank. At the same time, a great many of these bacteria are carried into the leach field and begin to consume the organic material that is clogging the soil. As a result, the underlying soil begins to regain its porosity, which in turn allows the effluent to pass through. After installation our client will have to discontinue use of a garbage disposal system, refrain from introducing any harsh chemicals into the septic system, use liquid detergents for washing dishes and clothes, refrain from flushing any and all non-organic products down the drains, refrain from the heavy use of bleach products and refrain from flushing paper towels or wipes down the drains. If they do their their leach field will remain operating correctly. We also have other septic repairs scheduled today in Mattapoisett, New Bedford, Fairhaven and Fall River MA. Septic Rejuvenation Allows Failed Septic Systems To Rapidly Rejuvenate Extending The Lifespan Of The Drainfield And The Septic System

Septic Preservation Services has an appointment to begin septic rejuvenation today for a client in Berkley MA. Septic Rejuvenation utilizes a patented technology to intermittently aerate the drainfield and surrounding soil. This method is used as an alternative to aerating the wastewater in the septic tank. It allows failed septic systems to rapidly rejuvenate, extending the lifespan of the drainfield and the septic system, while enhancing the treatment process.

Rejuvenation is currently being used by over 2,000 different septic service providers throughout the United States and Canada and has proven successful in a wide range of different climates and soil types. This technology has been applied in residential situations for both single and multi-family dwellings, as well as commercial situations, servicing hotels, laundrymats, grocery stores, food processing facilities, healthcare services, marinas, restaurants and more

Some of the benefits associated with Septic Rejuvenation include:

  • rapid restoration of proper septic system functions
  • lower costs for installation, operation and maintenance
  • enhanced removal of pathogens, nitrogen, phosphorus and B.O.D.
  • minimal damage/disruption to existing property landscape
  • long term, cost-effective solution

This technology has been studied over an extended period of time. Rejuvenation has been proven effective, tested by leading universities, leaders in the septic industry and third-party organizations. The process is simple, yet revolutionary. It is similar to composting and has the ability to rejuvenate septic systems that are severely failed within just a few days.

Other products attempt to rejuvenate septic systems by aerating the wastewater, which is fundamentally limited due to the maximum amount of oxygen that can be added into water. Our rejuvenation technology puts air directly into the clogged biomat and drainfield soils, getting directly to the root of the system failure. This process is much faster than water aeration methods and the treatment is much more thorough as a result.

Septic Preservation Services has applied septic rejuvenation technology to septic system projects that simply could not be rejuvenated using other types of pre-treatment devices, even systems that had been utilizing pre-treatment systems from installation. This process has been shown to increase the hydraulic capacity of the average septic system by as much as two to five times, boosting the efficiency of the affected system. As a result, in most cases as much as 25-75% of the drainfield can be taken out of service, allowed to rest and held in reserve for future use.

Regardless of your type of septic system, from chambers to stone and pipe, drip and everything in between, our rejuvenation technology can help get your system get back on track and running efficiently. The effectiveness of this method has been proven and documented by respected institutions, including Delaware Valley College, Massachusetts Test Center and the University of Rhode Island.
