Septic Engineering Services Including Perc Tests Provided

Septic Preservation Services know that a property does not need to be way out in the countryside to need to have a septic system. Before I moved into a home with a septic system I had certainly always just assumed that if a property was in a town or city it would be on town sewer. However I lived in two homes in the city of Attleboro MA both of which were certainly not in the countryside and both of which had septic systems because they were not on town sewer. I discovered that this was not unusual and definitely not the daunting prospect it first seemed when my realtor mentioned it. Increasingly as more and more property is built in New England the number that do not have access to town sewer is rising. Therefore the number of septic installations for new properties is also increasing. Septic Preservation Services certainly carry out many septic system installations in the region each year and the number is steadily growing. We also provide the septic engineering which is required before an installation can take place including septic design, soil testing and perc tests. An essential part of a septic system is the leach field and the soil in the leach area needs to be sufficiently permeable so that it can readily absorb the liquid effluent flowing into it. A site must also not have soil that is too permeable, allowing the effluent to reach the groundwater before it is fully treated. Very steep slopes are also unsuitable for a conventional leach field. In addition there must be at least a few feet of good soil from the bottom of the leach pipes to the rock or impervious hardpan below, or to the water table. The perc test provides the data to determine the suitability of a site for a septic system. In general, soils with high sand and gravel content drain the best and soils with a high clay content or solid rock are the worst. Most soils fall somewhere in the middle with a mix of course sand and gravel particles, small silt particles and tiny clay particles. Today we are conducting a perc test for a customer in Attleboro MA who is considering a building plot and needs to know its suitability for a septic system before proceeding. Even if a conventional septic system is not possible, depending on the perc test results, at Septic Preservation Services we have experience with alternative septic systems when it seems that a conventional system may not work. We are also providing septic engineering services to customers today in Norton, Seekonk, Rehoboth, Taunton and Freetown MA. If you require septic engineering or have any questions about septic systems please do contact us at our Norton office on 877-378-4279 or visit www.septicpreservation.com

Septic Design for an Attleboro Client

Septic Preservation Services have a meeting today at their Norton Office with a client who needs a septic design for their renovation property in Attleboro MA. Our client is extending the original home significantly adding on bedrooms and living space. The existing septic system is not efficient and will not support the increased demand that a larger home, with additional people inside of it, will produce. All wastewater, not just the waste from your toilet, gets processed via your septic system so more people having showers, using the washing machine, dishwasher etc will mean more work for your septic system so you need to ensure that it will support the demand. We have extensive experience designing septic systems for customers, both residential and commercial septic systems so can design one that is appropriate to individual customer’s requirements. We have recently provided septic designs to customers in Hudson, Wayland and West Bridgewater. If you require a septic design or if you have any questions about septic designs or septic systems please do contact our Norton office on 877-378-4279 or visit https://www.septicpreservation.com

Septic Improvements Including Installation Of Risers, Effluent Filters and Covers

Septic Preservation Services are here to help property owners with septic improvements in addition to maintaining and repairing their septic systems. Today we are installing septic risers for a customer in Attleboro MA. Most tank lids were buried up until a few years ago. Unfortunately out of sight is often out of mind and regular maintenance can be neglected if septic system components are buried. Once installed, homeowners will be able to provide easy access to the system for future repairs, upgrades or cleaning services, eliminating the need to dig and excavate the system each time it needs to be pumped. Septic Preservation Services can add an access riser to each tank opening with the lid installed flush with the ground surface. Other septic improvements we offer homeowners is to install an effluent filter in the outlet tee of their septic tank to extend the life of their system. Due to the high cost associated with replacing a septic system seemingly small upgrades to your system can pay off in a big way. If you are interested in septic improvements or have any questions about your septic system please do contact our office on 877-378-4279 or visit https://www.septicpreservation.com

Leach Field Repair in Attleboro MA

Septic Preservation Services has been contacted by a customer in Attleboro MA because they are concerned that their septic system is failing. Your system is failing if one or more of the following conditions exists:

  • All of the drains from the house are slow
  • There is a persistent wet area over the leach field
  • Sewage is surfacing in the area of the septic tank or distribution box
  • There is sewage seeping through the foundation
  • The liquid level in the leach field is at the top of the crushed rock layer, the chambers or other underground structures
  • The vegetation over the leach field is greener and more lush than over adjacent areas in the yard
  • There is sewage odor in the yard at times or constantly
  • There is flow back from the leach field when the septic tank is pumped
  • The septic tank needs to be pumped frequently
  • The septic tank discharge baffle is damaged or missing
  • Rain water seems to take longer to disappear over the leach field than over adjacent areas in the yard
  • Well water is contaminated

Our client has noticed sewage smells in their yard and persistent wet areas over their leach field. Their system is a candidate for the White Knight™ Microbial Inoculator/Generator, an economical, environmentally sound and permanent alternative to leach field replacement. In nature, oxygen-using (aerobic) bacteria in the soil consume non-living organic material. This is the process nature uses to “recycle” wastes. We install the White Knight™ Microbial Inoculator/Generator in the septic tank to create an oxygen rich environment and cultivate an extensive colony of these same soil bacteria. The result is nearly complete consumption of the organic materials entering the septic tank. At the same time, the bacteria are carried into the leach field where they consume the organic material that has accumulated in the underlying soil. The leach field regains and/or maintains is capacity to deliver effluent to the soil for purification.

The White Knight™ Microbial Inoculator/Generator can be used to:

  • Protect drainfields from ever biologically failing
  • Improve the function of marginally operating drainfields
  • Restore the function of totally failed drainfields
  • Improve the quality of effluent returning to the soil and ground water
  • Reduce the amount of nitrate moving into the environment
  • Reduce the size of a leach field required for new building construction
  • Expand the size of existing structures without expanding the leach field

The White Knight™ advantage includes:

  • An installation costs thousands of dollars less than that of a replacement leach field
  • Minimal disruption to existing landscape
  • Protection of the environment
  • Significantly longer tank pumping interval
  • Conservation of natural resources
  • 100% component and limited lifetime performance warranty

We have recently installed the White Knight™ Microbial Inoculator/Generator in properties in Norton, North Attleboro, Marshfield and Blackstone MA. If you suspect that your septic system may be failing or if you have any questions about the White Knight™ Microbial Inoculator/Generator please do contact our office on 877-378-4279 or visit https://www.septicpreservation.com

Septic Engineering Including Soil Evaluations, Septic Design and Land Use Planning

Septic Preservation Services have trained septic experts who can assist property owners with their septic engineering requirements. We can provide services to improve or repair your property such as soil evaluations, septic design and land use planning, septic improvements such as installation of risers, covers or filters and construction layouts for large or small commercial developments. Today we are conducting a soil evaluation for a customer in Norton MA. The soil evaluation will determine if the client’s building site is suitable for a conventional septic system and is typically called a “perc test’ or “perk test” (a percolation test). Traditional septic systems only work if the soil in the leach area is sufficiently permeable that it can readily absorb the liquid effluent flowing into it. Also, there must be at least a few feet of good soil from the bottom of the leach pipes to the rock or impervious hardpan below, or to the water table. Less commonly, a site can fail because the soil is too permeable, allowing the effluent to reach the groundwater before it is fully treated. Very steep slopes are also unsuitable for a conventional leach field. The specific standards vary from town to town, but any of these characteristics can prohibit the use of a standard gravity-fed septic system. Septic Preservation Services have extensive experience with various types of septic system so there are always alternative systems that can be used if the perc test does show some unfavourable results for a conventional system. We also have extensive experience with towns in this region so we know the individual requirements for different towns. We have other septic engineering appointments today in Attleboro, Rehoboth, Raynham and Dighton MA. If you would be interested in our septic engineering services or if you have any questions about septic engineering please do contact our Norton office on 877-378-4279 or visit www.septicpreservation.com
