Septic Engineering Appointments Including A PERC Test in North Attleboro

Septic Preservation Services has qualified engineers working for us who can assist with your septic engineering needs. Today we have septic engineering appointments which include soil evaluations, land use planning, and construction layouts for large commercial developments and private homes in North Attleboro, Wrentham,Foxboro, Sharon, Bellingham and Franklin MA. The soil evaluation or PERC test (percolation) that we have scheduled in North Attleboro is a soil test that is performed before installing a new septic system. The perc test is extremely important because it measures the level of liquid absorption of the soil where the proposed septic system will be located. This is necessary because after partially treated wastewater leaves the septic tank, it flows into a distribution box, which separates this flow evenly into a network of drainfield trenches. Drainage holes at the bottom of each line allow the wastewater to drain into gravel trenches for temporary storage. This effluent then slowly seeps into the subsurface soil where it is further treated and purified (secondary treatment). The PERC test provides the information to ensure that this process happens correctly for a newly installed septic system. Septic Inspections for Property Owners Who Are Selling

Septic Preservation Services in addition to servicing and repairing septic systems also has licensed septic inspectors who can provide septic inspections and septic assessments when requested. The majority of our septic system inspections are carried out because a property owner is selling their property and it has not had an inspection within the last 2 years so it is required to have one. Our inspector will use use the MassDEP-approved inspection form and submit it within 30 days of the inspection. For most systems, the Inspector is responsible for submitting the inspection report directly to the Board of Health. The buyer must also receive a copy from the seller of the property. In some cases, inspection reports must be submitted to authorities other than the Board of Health. For more information see Mass Gov website

We will always advise people who are selling a property with a septic system to have their septic inspection done early. This is because Inspections in connection with a property sale generally are good for 2 years (If a system is pumped annually and the pumping records are available, an inspection is valid for 3 years). Therefore you can have this done well before you have a buyer and it will consequently be completed and not cause delays later on in your sale. It will also be a selling point for your realtor when advertising the property because the prospective buyers know that the system has passed its septic system inspection. Today we have septic inspections scheduled in Sharon, Wrentham, North Attleboro, Seekonk and Attleboro MA. If you require a septic inspection or if you have any questions about septic systems please do contact us at our Norton office on 877-378-4279 or visit Septic Preservation Services

To Avoid Septic Problems and Septic Failure Have Your Septic System Pumped Regularly

Septic Preservation Services know that septic pumping does not sound (or smell) very appealing but having your septic system pumped regularly is an essential part of septic system maintenance. Even if your septic system has been used correctly and is operating perfectly you will still always need to have it pumped, usually every 3-5 years. Although your septic system treats effluent the build up of solid waste can not be avoided and your system will need to be pumped. If you leave it too long there will be unpleasant and sometimes unsafe septic problems that could lead to a total system failure. To avoid this have your septic system pumped regularly. Today we have septic pumping scheduled in North Attleboro, Attleboro, Norton, Raynham, Rehoboth, Dighton and Freetown MA. If you require a septic pump out or if you have any questions about septic pumping or septic systems please do contact our Norton office on 508-763-4431 or visit www.allclearseptic.com

Independence Day!

Septic Preservation Services wishes all of its customers Happy July 4th! As we celebrate Independence Day with our families and friends we know that no one wants to be concerned with septic problems. However septic problems do happen and if you have a septic system you need to know what may indicate a septic problem.

Some signs of a septic issue are:

  • Muddy soil or pools of wastewater around your septic tank or soil absorption system.
  • Very green or lush grass a vegetation on your leach field or near your septic tank.
  • Sewage smells around your system or inside your house.
  • Backups when you do laundry, take showers, or flush the toilet.

If you see these signs it is never a good idea to wait to have them looked at. A small septic problem with an easy and inexpensive repair can become a much larger, more expensive and more disruptive problem if left unaddressed. We have extensive experience locating and repairing septic septic problems. We have recently repaired septic systems in Berlin, Southborough, Upton, Marshfield and North Attleboro MA.

Leach Field Repair in Attleboro MA

Septic Preservation Services has been contacted by a customer in Attleboro MA because they are concerned that their septic system is failing. Your system is failing if one or more of the following conditions exists:

  • All of the drains from the house are slow
  • There is a persistent wet area over the leach field
  • Sewage is surfacing in the area of the septic tank or distribution box
  • There is sewage seeping through the foundation
  • The liquid level in the leach field is at the top of the crushed rock layer, the chambers or other underground structures
  • The vegetation over the leach field is greener and more lush than over adjacent areas in the yard
  • There is sewage odor in the yard at times or constantly
  • There is flow back from the leach field when the septic tank is pumped
  • The septic tank needs to be pumped frequently
  • The septic tank discharge baffle is damaged or missing
  • Rain water seems to take longer to disappear over the leach field than over adjacent areas in the yard
  • Well water is contaminated

Our client has noticed sewage smells in their yard and persistent wet areas over their leach field. Their system is a candidate for the White Knight™ Microbial Inoculator/Generator, an economical, environmentally sound and permanent alternative to leach field replacement. In nature, oxygen-using (aerobic) bacteria in the soil consume non-living organic material. This is the process nature uses to “recycle” wastes. We install the White Knight™ Microbial Inoculator/Generator in the septic tank to create an oxygen rich environment and cultivate an extensive colony of these same soil bacteria. The result is nearly complete consumption of the organic materials entering the septic tank. At the same time, the bacteria are carried into the leach field where they consume the organic material that has accumulated in the underlying soil. The leach field regains and/or maintains is capacity to deliver effluent to the soil for purification.

The White Knight™ Microbial Inoculator/Generator can be used to:

  • Protect drainfields from ever biologically failing
  • Improve the function of marginally operating drainfields
  • Restore the function of totally failed drainfields
  • Improve the quality of effluent returning to the soil and ground water
  • Reduce the amount of nitrate moving into the environment
  • Reduce the size of a leach field required for new building construction
  • Expand the size of existing structures without expanding the leach field

The White Knight™ advantage includes:

  • An installation costs thousands of dollars less than that of a replacement leach field
  • Minimal disruption to existing landscape
  • Protection of the environment
  • Significantly longer tank pumping interval
  • Conservation of natural resources
  • 100% component and limited lifetime performance warranty

We have recently installed the White Knight™ Microbial Inoculator/Generator in properties in Norton, North Attleboro, Marshfield and Blackstone MA. If you suspect that your septic system may be failing or if you have any questions about the White Knight™ Microbial Inoculator/Generator please do contact our office on 877-378-4279 or visit http://www.septicpreservation.com
