Know The Signs That Septic Pumping Could Be Necessary

Septic Preservation Services knows that septic maintenance has to be done whatever the season or weather. If you have a septic system regular maintenance is essential for it to keep working correctly. Fortunately septic pumping which is the most important maintenance for a septic system is not usually required annually (unless you have a garbage disposal). It is recommended that you have your septic system pumped every 3-5 years so if it has been a few years since you have had yours done or you can’t remember when it was done last now may be a good time to consider having your system pumped or call us so we can help you determine what would be your best course of action. Signs that you septic system is due for a pump out can include:

  • Pooling water. If it hasn’t recently rained yet you are still seeing pools of liquid on your leach field this could be a sign that your system is full. When your tank reaches capacity, solid waste can clog the drain field piping system and force liquid to the surface
  • Slow drains or slow flushing toilets are an indicator that your system is reaching capacity.
  • Sewage Odors or smells in your home or yard
  • An overly healthy lawn. If your grass is much greener or lusher that than the rest of your yard over the leach field you may have a tank that needs pumping
  • Septic backup

Today we are providing septic pumping for customers in Plymouth, Marshfield, Carver, Sandwich, Bourne and Halifax MA. If you wish to schedule septic pumping or if you are unsure whether your system needs a pump out please do contact our Norton Office on 877 378 4279 or visit Septic Preservation Services where we will be happy to help you.

Septic Pumping Should Be Done Every 3 – 5 Years

septic system cleaning and pumpingSeptic Preservation Services provide perhaps the most important septic system maintenance service – septic pumping. Septic Systems will always need to be pumped but the frequency can vary depending on a variety of factors including the size of your septic system and the number of people that are using it. However as a general guide you should have your septic system pumped every 3-5 years or annually if you have a garbage disposal. This is because normally, properly designed tanks have enough space for up to three to five years’ safe accumulation of sludge. When the sludge level increases beyond this point, sewage has less time to settle properly before leaving the tank. As the sludge level increases, more solid wastes escape into the soil absorption system (SAS) or leach field/ drain field. If the SAS becomes so clogged that it cannot absorb liquid at the rate at which it enters the tank, the plumbing will “back up” or unsanitary wastewater will bubble to the surface. You really don’t want to wait until you have sewage ‘bubbling’ to the surface in your yard or backing up into your house so it is a good idea to keep up with your septic pumping schedule. Today we have septic pumping scheduled for customers in Plymouth, Carver, Halifax, Rochester, Sandwich and Bourne MA. If you need to schedule a septic pump out or if you have questions about pumping or your septic system please do contact our Norton office on 877 378 4279 or visit Septic Preservation Services

Avoid Septic Repairs This Thanksgiving By Not Pouring Grease, Oil and Fat Down Your Sink

Septic Preservation Services are all looking forward to Thanksgiving and the great food and time with our family and friends that goes alongside this holiday. We know our customers are also looking forward to Thanksgiving and food preparation is well underway for Thanksgiving Meals. We would like to remind our customers that it is not a good idea to put any type of cooking oil, fat or grease down the sink where it can enter your septic system. Whilst a well maintained septic system can cope with small amounts of fat, oil and grease, such as natural body oils that go into your septic system when you shower, if you regularly introduce cooking fats, oils and grease into your septic system it could result in a septic system failure if left. Just remember when you are making your beautifully juicy turkey dinner do not pour the fat, oil or grease down your sink. We have been conducting septic repairs in Yarmouth, Falmouth, Mashpee, Barnstable, Chatham, Sandwich and Bourne MA that could have been easily avoided with a little knowledge and preventative measures. If you have a question about your septic system or you need to schedule a septic repair please contact us on 877 378 4279 or visit Septic Preservation Services

Septic Services Can Take The Worry From Septic System Maintenance

Septic Preservation Services know that many people who own a vehicle will schedule a service for their car when the service indicators comes on or carry out their car maintenance themselves. As car owners we accept that maintaining our car is going to cost money but we use our vehicles daily so they need to be well maintained. The same is true for your septic system. There aren’t many properties that do not see their septic systems used daily. However a septic system is not the same as your car and many property owners turn to professionals, like Septic Preservation Services, to take care of their septic services. We have commercial and residential customers who rely upon us to take care of their septic systems so they do not need to worry about them. This is especially true for commercial customers who lose revenue when their septic system is not working. We will schedule septic services for our customers on a quarterly, biannual or annual basis depending on their septic system and the usage it gets. For example a busy restaurant that is open year round will need a service more frequently than a cafe that is only open in the summer ‘season’. Today we have septic services scheduled in Marion, Bourne, Carver, Sandwich, Mashpee, Falmouth and Barnstable MA. If you would be interested in scheduling a septic service or if you have any questions about septic systems or our septic services please do contact our Norton office on 877-378-4279 or visit https://www.septicpreservation.com

Septic Preventative Maintenance Such As Septic Cleaning Keeps Your System Working

Septic Preservation Services knows that the best way to ensure that your septic system continues to operate efficiently and correctly is to make sure that you provide your system with preventative maintenance. This essentially means that if you maintain your system you will prevent repairs being necessary and prevent premature septic system failure. All septic systems need to be pumped regularly because your septic tank will eventually fill up with solids which it can not process like it can liquid effluent to safely return to the soil. If you neglect septic pumping and your septic tank does become full you will start to see, and smell, all sorts of septic problems and if left septic failure which is expensive, unpleasant and potentially dangerous to your health and the health of your family and neighbors. In addition to septic pumping septic cleaning can also be very beneficial to your septic system. Getting your tanks cleaned on a regular basis will help to improve the efficiency of your septic system and keep it running smoothly. Not all septic pumping companies will also clean your septic system. We utilize specialized miniature equipment to locate specific areas of your system, such as a sewer cam that is used to investigate the inside of your sewer lines, and jetting equipment to clean the pipes within the leach field. Today we have septic cleaning scheduled in Carver, Plymouth, Bourne, Sandwich and Marshfield MA. If you require septic cleaning or septic pumping please do contact our Norton office on 877-378-4279 or visit www.septicpreservation.com
