Functional Inspections To Provide Septic System Information When Property Is Sold

Septic Preservation Services have been working with Rhode Island property owners for over 20 years providing septic inspections, septic repairs, septic maintenance including septic pumping and septic cleaning and septic designs. With one third of the state’s households using some form of septic system for sewage disposal there are a lot of septic systems that require attention. If you have never had a property with a septic system the prospect can be daunting but with minimal maintenance and some guidelines a septic system will happily do its job with minimal interference. However if you are purchasing a property with a septic system you do want to ensure that the necessary maintenance has taken place so the system is working correctly because a failing system is a large environmental, economical and logistical problem. Therefore Functional Inspections were devised which are:

‘used to determine whether a system is adequate to serve the wastewater disposal needs of the household. The functional inspection is especially intended for use during a property transfer as a means to protect the consumer and identify systems in need of upgrade or repair.”

We carry out these inspections for customers who are buying or selling property, both residential and commercial, and need to have an inspection to highlight the condition of their septic system. Today we have functional inspections scheduled in Portsmouth, Little Compton, Middletown, Barrington and Tiverton RI. If you require a septic inspection in Rhode Island or if you have any questions about septic inspections please do contact our office on 877-378-4279 or visit Septic Preservation Services

Have A Septic Inspection And Know The Condition Of Your Septic System

Septic Preservation Services know that for many homes in Maine that are remote and therefore not on town sewer their property wastewater purification necessarily requires a septic system. All septic systems are designed specifically for their own site and have variances which make them unique but most systems are based on the same principles. A conventional septic system consists of a septic tank, a distribution box and a drainfield. Your septic system treats your household wastewater by temporarily holding it in the septic tank where heavy solids and lighter scum are allowed to separate from the wastewater. The solids stored in the tank are decomposed by bacteria and later pumped out. After partially treated wastewater leaves the tank, it flows into a distribution box, which separates this flow evenly into a network of drainfield trenches. Drainage holes at the bottom of each line allow the wastewater to drain into gravel trenches for temporary storage. This effluent then slowly seeps into the subsurface soil where it is further treated and purified. Your system must be maintained and used correctly to ensure that it is doing its job correctly. A failing septic system can create many unpleasant conditions such as:

  • Hazardous sewage surfacing in yard
  • Health hazards to children and pets
  • Noxious orders over large areas
  • Polluted streams and ponds
  • Sewage back-up in buildings
  • Contaminated wells
  • Breeding areas for mosquitoes

Therefore if you are considering buying a property with a septic system, selling a property with a septic system or own a property with a septic system it is often a very good idea to have septic inspection so you can be confident in the current efficiency and condition of that system. Today we have septic inspection appointments in Hebron, Harrison, Auburn, Lewiston, North Bridgton, West Paris and Turner ME. If you need to schedule a septic inspection in Maine or if you have any questions about septic inspections or septic systems please do contact our office on 877-378-4279 or visit Septic Preservation Services

Septic Inspections Provided In Portsmouth RI and To Surrounding Towns

Septic Preservation Services have Rhode Island Septic Inspections scheduled today in Little Compton, Tiverton, Barrington, Middletown and Portsmouth. We are called by individuals who are not on town sewer so have a septic system on their property to process their wastewater. Of course these systems need to be working correctly to avoid the problems that result from a failing septic system. A failing septic system can cause a serious health threat to your family and neighbors, degrade the environment, especially lakes, streams and groundwater, reduce the value of your property, be very expensive to repair and put thousands of water supply users at risk if you live in a public water supply watershed and fail to maintain your system. Our licensed septic inspectors will provide a thorough, prompt and convenient inspection and are registered to do so in these towns. For example we have five inspectors on the Town of Portsmouth’s registered inspectors list, which is more than any other septic company.

Today we have Title 5 inspections scheduled in Seekonk, Rehoboth, Norton, Mansfield, Attleboro and Wrentham MA. As stated on the Mas Gov website:

“The inspection includes determining the location and condition of cesspools, septic tanks and distribution boxes. Often, this will not require extensive excavation.” For more information see the Mass Gov Website.

Title 5 Septic Inspections In Sharon and Surrounding Towns

Septic Preservation Services provide Title 5 Septic Inspections to many customers in Massachusetts and most are either selling a property or buying a property. This is because a Title 5 Inspection has to take place within 2 years before a sale. However there are other times that a Title 5 Septic Inspection is required. We are providing Title 5 Septic Inspections today in Sharon, West Bridgewater, Halifax, Middleboro, Taunton and Mansfield MA for private properties and one condominium. As specified on the Mass Gov website:

“Condominiums with 5 or more units – all systems must be inspected every 3 years.
Condominiums with fewer units must either inspect all systems every 3 years, or the system serving the unit being transferred must be inspected within 2 years prior to transfer.

This condominium building has over 5 units so we are conducting the Title 5 Inspection which needs to be carried out because its last inspection was over 3 years ago. If you require a Title 5 Septic Inspection or if you have any questions about septic inspections please do contact our Norton office on 877-378-4279 or visit Septic Preservation Services
