Septic Inspections From Referrals

Septic Preservation Services have been providing septic inspections to customers in this region for over 25 years. This means that we have developed strong relationships with realtors in this area too because a vast majority of septic inspections that we carry out are for property owners who are selling their homes. We are proud of the relationships that we have built and a lot of our business comes from referrals either from happy customers or realtors who have referred our services to their clients because they have worked with us in the past and are happy to do so again. Today we have septic inspections scheduled in North Attleboro, Wrentham, Foxboro, Mansfield, Sharon and Norton MA. If you require a septic inspection or if you have any questions about septic inspections please do contact our Norton office on

Safety Meeting To Ensure Our Technicians and Customers Are Safe

Septic Preservation Services had its monthly safety meeting today. The safety of our employees and customers is of the utmost importance to us so we ensure that we stay ahead of safety training, safety procedures and that our equipment is safe and our employees know how to use it correctly. Even though it is raining today part of our safety commitment is ensuring that our staff are safe whatever the weather so today our meeting covered heat stress and sun exposure training to ensure that our staff know how to work safely when the sun does show itself. We also focused on trailer safety for open, closed and equipment trailers including correct loading, tie down and visual inspections. We had technicians attend the meeting at our Norton Office and also join remotely from our Biddeford Maine office. Licensed Inspectors Providing Septic Inspections In Rhode Island

Septic Preservation Services have Rhode Island Septic Inspections scheduled today in Little Compton, Tiverton, Barrington, Middletown and Portsmouth. We are called by individuals who are not on town sewer so have a septic system on their property to process their wastewater. Of course these systems need to be working correctly to avoid the problems that result from a failing septic system. A failing septic system can cause a serious health threat to your family and neighbors, degrade the environment, especially lakes, streams and groundwater, reduce the value of your property, be very expensive to repair and put thousands of water supply users at risk if you live in a public water supply watershed and fail to maintain your system. Our licensed septic inspectors will provide a thorough, prompt and convenient inspection and are registered to do so in these towns. For example we have five inspectors on the Town of Portsmouth’s registered inspectors list. For more information see: https://www.portsmouthri.com/DocumentCenter/View/800

Septic Inspections Scheduled In Maine

Septic Preservation Services know that for many homes in Maine that are remote and therefore not on town sewer their property wastewater purification necessarily requires a septic system. All Septic Systems are designed specifically for their own site and have variances which make them unique but most systems are based on the same principles. A conventional septic system consists of a septic tank, a distribution box and a drainfield. Your septic system treats your household wastewater by temporarily holding it in the septic tank where heavy solids and lighter scum are allowed to separate from the wastewater. The solids stored in the tank are decomposed by bacteria and later pumped out. After partially treated wastewater leaves the tank, it flows into a distribution box, which separates this flow evenly into a network of drainfield trenches. Drainage holes at the bottom of each line allow the wastewater to drain into gravel trenches for temporary storage. This effluent then slowly seeps into the subsurface soil where it is further treated and purified. You system must be maintained and used correctly to ensure that it is doing its job correctly. A failing septic system can create many unpleasant conditions such as:

  • Hazardous sewage surfacing in yard
  • Health hazards to children and pets
  • Noxious orders over large areas
  • Polluted streams and ponds
  • Sewage back-up in buildings
  • Contaminated wells
  • Breeding areas for mosquitoes

Therefore if you are considering buying a property with a septic system, selling a property with a septic system or own a property with a septic system it is often a very good idea to have septic inspection so you can be confident in the current efficiency and condition of that system. Today we have septic inspections in Portland, Gorham, Freeport, Raymond, Pownal, Poland and Windham ME. If you need to schedule a septic inspection in Maine or if you have any questions about septic inspections or septic systems please do contact our office on 877-378-4279 or visit https://www.septicpreservation.com

Title 5 Inspections For Condominiums In Addition to Private Homes and Commercial Buildings

Septic Preservation Services know that if you live in a condominium without town sewer you are unlikely to have anything to do with your septic system. This is because unless otherwise stated in your condominium associations governing documents:

“The condominium association is responsible for the inspection, maintenance and upgrade of the system or systems serving the units” as specified on the Mass Gov website. If goes further to say:

“Condominium systems should be inspected once every 3 years. Condominium developments with 4 or fewer units should also have their system inspected every 3 years, or within 2 years prior to the sale of one of the units.” for more information see –

https://www.mass.gov/guides/buying-or-selling-property-with-a-septic-system

We provide Title 5 Inspections for condominium associations as well as private homes and commercial properties including restaurants and office buildings. Today we have Title 5 Inspections in Middleboro, Mansfield, Bourne, Carver, Marion and Rochester MA including one for a large condominium building of more than 5 units. Title 5 Inspections For Property Owners Who Are Selling

Septic Preservation Services regularly provide Title 5 Septic Inspections to property owners who are selling and need to have their septic system inspected before a property transfer can take place. Today we have Title 5 inspections for customers in Bridgewater, Halifax, Hanover, Scituate, Marshfield and Canton MA. In Massachusetts a septic inspection is required in the following instances:

  • Within 2 years before a sale. If weather conditions prevent inspection at the time of a sale, the inspection must take place within 6 months afterward.
  • When there is a proposed change to the facility which requires a building or occupancy permit.
  • Any change in the footprint of a building, to make sure that new building construction will not take place on top of any system components or on the system’s reserve area.
  • For large systems with a design flow of 10,000 to 15,000 gallons per day or more at full build-out, on the basin schedule shown in 310 CMR 15.301(6), and every five years thereafter.
  • Every 3 years for shared systems.
  • When the property is divided, or ownership of 2 or more properties is combined.
  • When MassDEP or the local Board of Health orders an inspection

For more information see: https://www.mass.gov/guides/buying-or-selling-property-with-a-septic-system

What is worth noting is that your inspection, once done, is valid for 2 years so ideally we would recommend that if you are selling a property with a septic system that you have the Title 5 inspection done as soon as possible. This way if it does unearth any problems you can have them fixed when it wont cause problematic delays. When you have a valid septic inspection which your system has passed that is just one more positive for your property for potential buyers. If you need to schedule a septic inspection or if you have questions about Title 5 inspections or septic systems please do contact us at our Norton Office on 877-378-4279 or visit https://www.septicpreservation.com
