Septic Repair For A D-Box In Norton MA

Septic Preservation Services has an appointment today for a customer in Norton MA who needs a septic repair because their D-Box (distribution box) is not operating correctly. A D-Box is an essential component of a conventional septic system. As the name suggests it ‘distributes’ in this case wastewater from the septic tank which has already partially treated the wastewater into the leach field. A septic system consists a septic tank and a drainfield which are connected through the D-Box. Wastewater flows from your property to the septic tank. The septic tank treats the wastewater by holding it in the tank long enough for solids and liquids to separate. The wastewater forms three layers inside the tank. Solids lighter than water (such as greases and oils) float to the top forming a layer of scum. Solids heavier than water settle at the bottom of the tank forming a layer of sludge. This leaves a middle layer of partially clarified wastewater. The layers of sludge and scum remain in the septic tank where bacteria work to break the solids down. The sludge and scum that cannot be broken down are retained in the septic tank until the tank is pumped. The layer of clarified liquid flows from the septic tank to the drainfield via the D-Box which uniformly distributes the wastewater into the drainfield. A standard drain field (also known as a leach field, disposal field, or a soil absorption system) is a series of trenches or a bed lined with gravel or course sand and buried one to three feet below the ground surface. Perforated pipes or drain tiles run through the trenches to distribute the wastewater. The drainfield treats the wastewater by allowing it to slowly trickle from the pipes out into the gravel and down through the soil. The gravel and soil act as biological filters. Clearly it is essential that all components of the septic system are working correctly for it to process your waste. We will ensure that the D-Box is either repaired or replaced so our customer can be confident that their system is working efficiently. We have other septic repair appointments today in Berlin, Bolton, Clinton, Sterling and Northborough MA. Septic System Design For Attleboro, MA Property

Septic Preservation Services are providing a septic system design for a customer in Attleboro MA. All septic systems are designed specifically for their own site and have variances which make them unique but most systems are based on the same principles. A conventional septic system consists of a septic tank, a distribution box and a drainfield. Your septic system treats your household wastewater by temporarily holding it in the septic tank where heavy solids and lighter scum are allowed to separate from the wastewater. The solids stored in the tank are decomposed by bacteria and later pumped out. After partially treated wastewater leaves the tank, it flows into a distribution box, which separates this flow evenly into a network of drainfield trenches. Drainage holes at the bottom of each line allow the wastewater to drain into gravel trenches for temporary storage. This effluent then slowly seeps into the subsurface soil where it is further treated and purified. We have many years experience working in this region and know not only the state septic requirements but also those of the individual towns that we work in. Therefore we can help prevent delays for our customers which often happens if a septic design is not correct or doesn’t follow town BOH regulations. We have recently provided septic designs for customers in Berlin, Lakeville, Upton and Norton MA. If you need a septic system design or if you have septic questions please do contact our office in 877 378 4279 or visit Septic Preservation Services

Septic System Upgrades For A Customer in Acushnet, MA

Septic Preservation Services has an appointment today in Acushnet MA today to provide septic system upgrades by adding risers to a client’s septic tank in addition to a septic system effluent filter. Basic septic system upgrades can simplify maintenance, improve system function, and protect your drainfield for long-term savings. Access risers and effluent filters are two low-cost septic system upgrades for existing or new tanks that we can provide. The riser will help the owner and inspectors easily locate the tank, and they provide access for maintenance and repair. They also avoid the need to repeatedly dig up the lawn for routine inspections or pumping. The effluent filter is an inexpensive plastic filtering device that fits into the outlet end of the septic tank. The screen helps prevent solids from leaving the tank and clogging the drainfield, one of the most common causes of septic system failure. We have provided other septic system upgrades for customers in Fall River, Rochester and Norton MA. If you would be interested in septic system upgrades or if you have any questions about our septic services or septic systems please do contact our Norton office on 877 378 4279 or visit Septic Preservation Services

septic system cleaning and pumping

Septic System Maintenance Is Necessary To Avoid Repairs and Failures

Septic Preservation Services know that even though it is only January 2nd it suddenly feels like the holidays were a long time ago and we are all getting back into the swing of things. This means that property maintenance that you have perhaps been putting off over the holiday period should now be looked at and not postponed anymore. Septic System Maintenance is really not something that should be put off for too long because if left it can lead to large and expensive repair being necessary or even a septic failure. The most important septic system maintenance is septic pumping. The average recommended pumping frequency is between 3 and 5 years, depending on the tank size and number of occupants. The longer you wait between pumping the greater the likelihood that you may have a septic problem and you will shorten the lifespan of your system and eventually it will fail. As wastewater enters your septic tank from your property, the solid matter will be held in the tank and break down into “sludge” over time, while the liquids continue on to the absorption area (leach field / drain field). Sludge is never meant to exit your septic tank, so it must be pumped out on a regular basis — you don’t want the sludge to accumulate to the point where it starts exiting the tank towards the absorption area or backing up into your property.

Once this happens pumping will not rectify the issue and you will be looking at additional costs to repair your system and if left too long you may have to replace your septic system or at least parts of it which is both expensive and disruptive. We have septic pumping scheduled today for customers who are choosing to keep on top of their septic system maintenance in Rowley, Boxford, Groveland, Peabody, Lynnfield and North Reading MA. If you require septic pumping or if you are not sure if it is time or if you have any questions please do contact our Norton office on 877 378 4279 or visit Septic Preservation Services

Septic Rejuvenation in Westport, MA To Rapidly Repair Failed Septic System

Septic Preservation Services has an appointment to begin septic rejuvenation today for a client in Westport MA. Septic Rejuvenation utilizes a patented technology to intermittently aerate the drainfield and surrounding soil. This method is used as an alternative to aerating the wastewater in the septic tank. It allows failed septic systems to rapidly rejuvenate, extending the lifespan of the drainfield and the septic system, while enhancing the treatment process.

Rejuvenation is currently being used by over 2,000 different septic service providers throughout the United States and Canada and has proven successful in a wide range of different climates and soil types. This technology has been applied in residential situations for both single and multi-family dwellings, as well as commercial situations, servicing hotels, laundrettes, grocery stores, food processing facilities, healthcare services, marinas, restaurants and more.

Some of the benefits associated with Septic Rejuvenation include:

  • rapid restoration of proper septic system functions
  • lower costs for installation, operation and maintenance
  • enhanced removal of pathogens, nitrogen, phosphorus and B.O.D.
  • minimal damage/disruption to existing property landscape
  • long term, cost-effective solution

This technology has been studied over an extended period of time. Rejuvenation has been proven effective, tested by leading universities, leaders in the septic industry and third-party organizations. The process is simple, yet revolutionary. It is similar to composting and has the ability to rejuvenate septic systems that are severely failed within just a few days.

Other products attempt to rejuvenate septic systems by aerating the wastewater, which is fundamentally limited due to the maximum amount of oxygen that can be added into water. Our rejuvenation technology puts air directly into the clogged biomat and drainfield soils, getting directly to the root of the system failure. This process is much faster than water aeration methods and the treatment is much more thorough as a result.

Septic Preservation Services has applied this rejuvenation technology to septic system projects that simply could not be rejuvenated using other types of pre-treatment devices, even systems that had been utilizing pre-treatment systems from installation. This process has been shown to increase the hydraulic capacity of the average septic system by as much as two to five times, boosting the efficiency of the affected system. As a result, in most cases as much as 25-75% of the drainfield can be taken out of service, allowed to rest and held in reserve for future use.

Regardless of your type of septic system, from chambers to stone and pipe, drip and everything in between, our rejuvenation technology can help get your system get back on track and running efficiently. The effectiveness of this method has been proven and documented by respected institutions, including Delaware Valley College, Massachusetts Test Center and the University of Rhode Island.

Septic Repair in Acushnet MA

Septic Preservation Services have a septic repair scheduled today for a customer in Acushnet MA. We are replacing their distribution Box (D-Box). A D-Box is exactly as it sounds it’s a box that moves, or distributes treated wastewater from your septic tank into your leach field or drain field. It must be level and installed correctly or your watewater will not distribute evenly across your leach field and this can lead to over saturation and clogging which is not desirable. The d-box we are replacing was damaged when heavy equipment was mistakenly parked on top of it which broke and moved it. We have found that many property owners with septic systems while they know they have a septic tank sometimes forget that the leachfield and d-box are also essential parts of their septic system and must also be maintained. Here are a few simple tips to help you look after all parts of your septic system:

  • Minimize the use of the garbage disposal
  • Do not put grease down your drains
  • Spread loads of laundry out over time rather than doing multiple loads in a short period of time, and use liquid detergents rather than powdered detergents
  • Avoid excessively long showers
  • Avoid leaving tap water running when shaving, brushing teeth or doing other personal or household tasks
  • Do not flush medications, harmful chemicals, excessive amounts of bleach, harsh drain cleaners or degreasers
  • Have the septic tank pumped at least every three years
  • Do not add any septic systems cleaners, enzymes or additives
  • Remove water conditioning backwash discharges from the septic system
  • Do not plant trees and shrubs over leach fields
  • Do not flush personal products, paper towels, wipes or diapers
  • Do not clean or rinse paint brushes in the sinks
  • Equip all hot tubs, spas, whirlpool baths, etcetera with drain limiting valves that will only allow five gallons per minute to drain from fixture
  • Do not drive vehicles over leach fields

We also have septic repairs scheduled in Norton, Stoughton, Canton and Taunton MA and some of these repairs could have been avoided by following the above advice. If you have any questions about your septic system or if you need a septic repair please do contact our Norton office on 877 378 4279 or visit Septic Preservation Services

Septic Cleaning in Addition To Septic Pumping Helps Your Septic System Work Correctly

Septic Preservation Services understand that part of any good septic system preventative maintenance program is to ensure that it is properly cleaned and pumped on a regular basis However it is also important to know the facts about septic cleaning and pumping to avoid making costly mistakes. Inside your septic tank solid waste matter sinks to the bottom and grease and oils float to the top. Treated liquid waste flows through pipes into a drain field or leach field. If too much solid waste accumulates it clogs the drain pipes, prevents liquids from escaping, and leads to sewage backups into your home and a health hazard because waste is not treated before exiting your septic system. A properly maintained septic system should only have a septic pump out every 2-5 years, as needed, to avoid removing the “good” bacteria and keep the system running smoothly. Septic pumping will ensure that your septic system does not ‘fill up’ with waste. Getting your tanks cleaned on a regular basis will help to improve the efficiency of your septic system and keep it running smoothly. Septic Preservation Services takes pride in the work that we do, utilizing specialized miniature equipment to locate specific areas of your system, such as a sewer cam that is used to investigate the inside of your sewer lines, and jetting equipment to clean the pipes within the leach field. It is important to understand that septic pumping does not always mean that your system will also be cleaned and leaving solid buildup in the septic tank or not having your leach field pipes jetted can mean that even if your system is pumped blockages can still occur which can result in septic system failures and potentially unpleasant, expensive and harmful repercussions. Today we have septic cleaning appointments in Berlin, Clinton, Bolton, Marlborough, Sterling and Grafton MA. If you are interested in septic cleaning or septic pumping or have any questions about the process please do contact our office on 877 378 4279 or visit Septic Preservation Services

design and installation

Leach Field Repair with the Installation of a White Knight™ Microbial Inoculator/Generator

Septic Preservation Services have been contacted by a property owner in Attleboro MA who has a leach field problem which has been caused by it becoming clogged with the excessive amount of organic matter that has been passed to it from their septic tank. We will repair their leach field without needing to replace it with the installation of a White Knight™ Microbial Inoculator/Generator.

In nature, oxygen-using (aerobic) bacteria in the soil consume non-living organic material. This is the process nature uses to “recycle” wastes. We install the White Knight™ Microbial Inoculator/Generator in the septic tank to create an oxygen rich environment and cultivate an extensive colony of these same soil bacteria.

The result is nearly complete consumption of the organic materials entering the septic tank. At the same time, the bacteria are carried into the leach field where they consume the organic material that has accumulated in the underlying soil. The leach field regains and/or maintains its capacity to deliver effluent to the soil for purification.

The White Knight™ Microbial Inoculator/Generator includes:

  • An installation costs thousands of dollars less than that of a replacement leach field
  • Minimal disruption to existing landscape
  • Protection of the environment
  • Significantly longer tank pumping interval
  • Conservation of natural resources
  • 100% component and limited lifetime performance warranty

We have other septic repairs also scheduled today in Norton, Mansfield, Stoughton, Sharon, Canton and Foxboro MA.

If you want to have a White Knight Septic Installation, need a septic repair or if you have any questions please do contact our Norton office on 877-378-4279 or visit Septic Preservation Services
