Septic Inspections Today In Maine

Septic Preservation Services knows that being aware of the condition of your septic system is key to maintaining it correctly and ensuring that it continues to work efficiently without breakdowns. A septic system will always require maintenance so it is advisable to know the condition of your septic. It is always surprising the number of property owners who have a septic system serving their property and are under the mistaken impression that if there is nothing clearly wrong it can be left alone. A septic system must always be maintained with the minimum of action required being pump outs every 3-5 years. With septic systems ignorance is not bliss and could lead to some unpleasant surprises so having a professional inspect your system could help prevent expensive repairs in the future if you can catch problems before they occur. Today we have septic inspections scheduled in Pownal, Freeport, Lisbon Falls, Poland, Raymond and Lewiston Maine. If you would be interested in a septic inspection or if you have any septic questions please do contact our office on 877-378-4279 or visit https://www.septicpreservation.com

Increases In Flow Of Septic System Requires A Septic Inspection

Septic Preservation Services have many years experience working with the septic industry in this region and because of this we are contacted to do septic inspections for property owners who are selling their home or business property with a septic system and therefore require an inspection. Today we have inspections scheduled for customers in Fairhaven, Mattapoisett, Marion and New Bedford for property sales. We also have a septic inspection today for a property in Acushnet MA for another reason. As required by Title 5 in Massachusetts:

“Changes of Use and Increases in Flow

These situations require a system inspection only if the modification requires a building permit or occupancy permit. For example:

  • adding a bedroom to a house
  • adding seats to a restaurant
  • changing the type of business operating at a commercial location.

Check with your Building Department or Board of Health to find out if your modification meets these requirements.

Any change in the footprint of a building also requires an inspection to determine the location of the system, to ensure that construction will not be located on top of any system components or on the reserve area. Check with your local Board of Health” – Mass Gov. For more information see https://www.mass.gov/guides/buying-or-selling-property-with-a-septic-system

In this instance our client has added bedrooms to their property and therefore require a septic inspection.

If you need a septic inspection, for any reason, or you are unsure about septic inspections, Title 5 or septic systems please do contact our Norton office where we will be happy to answer any questions you may have or schedule an appointment if necessary on 877-378-4279 or visit https://www.septicpreservation.com

Regular Septic Maintenance Including Septic Cleaning Is The Best Way To Keep Your Septic Healthy And To Avoid Costly Repairs

Septic Preservation Services has septic cleaning appointments scheduled today in North Reading, Lynnfield, Reading, Boxford, Medford and Peabody MA. Septic Cleaning is more than just a septic pump out. We utilize specialized miniature equipment to locate specific areas of your system, such as a sewer cam that is used to investigate the inside of your sewer lines, and jetting equipment to clean the pipes within the leach field. To prevent problems, we ensure the solids in your system are cleared out and remain at a level consistent with a healthy system. We also check and clear filters if one is present to be sure it doesn’t let any solids into the soil absorption system. The health of your septic system is improved through addition of bacteria products to your system by our professional staff. These bacteria help break down the organic solids in your tank which reduces buildup over time, reduces odors and keeps your pipes clean. With proper maintenance these additives can ensure the success and health of your system. Keeping your septic system clean and healthy is the best way to avoid costly repairs to your septic system, be it a septic tank, cesspool or some other style system. Septic Preservation Services helps to ensure your system remains as healthy as possible if you schedule regular system maintenance. If you have questions about septic systems, septic cleaning or wish to schedule an appointment please do contact us on 877-378-4279 or or visit https://www.septicpreservation.com

New England Weather Doesn’t Stop Septic Appointments Happening

Septic Preservation Services wishes everyone a very happy 2018! This year promises to be even more successful the last and we are already very busy with septic appointments for our customers. Even in New England weather we are able to carryout many appointments as planned. Today we have Title 5 Septic Inspections scheduled in Attleboro, Norton, Mansfield, Foxboro and Sharon MA. However if the weather is especially bad to make it impossible for our inspector to carry out your Title 5 Inspection then Title 5 does make allowances:

“If weather conditions prevent an inspection before a sale, Title 5 allows the inspection to be done up to 6 months afterwards, provided that the seller notifies the buyer in writing of the need to complete the inspection”

For more information see:

A Title 5 Inspection Is Usually Required When A Property With A Septic System Is Sold

Septic Preservation Services know that moving home at any time of the year is a stressful and time consuming business. If you are selling a home in addition to buying a home this just seems to double the workload. Therefore we try to make one small part of your move as painless as possible. If you are selling a home with a septic system in Massachusetts you are likely to need to have a Title 5 Inspection. As stated on the Mass Gov Website:

“In order to ensure that septic systems (conventional septic systems, cesspools, and innovative/alternative systems) are protective of human health and the environment, MassDEP generally requires that systems be inspected when a property is sold.

When is an inspection required?
When a property is sold to new owners, or there otherwise is a transfer of title to new owners, with certain exceptions.
Title 5 does not require a system inspection if the transfer is of residential real property, and is between the following relationships:
(1) between current spouses;
(2) between parents and their children;
(3) between full siblings; and
(4) where the grantor transfers the real property to be held in a revocable or irrevocable trust, where at least one of the designated beneficiaries is of the first degree of relationship to the grantor”.

We have extensive experience providing septic inspections in this region for property owners. We have excellent relationships with many realtors because they have worked with us before, in some instances on multiple occasions, and know that we provide through, reliable and prompt inspections to their clients. Many of our septic inspections come from referrals from realtors to their clients. Our Inspectors have recently been to properties in Uxbridge, Lynnfield, Norton, Sutton and Rochester MA to provide a Title 5 Inspection. If you are moving and require more information on Title 5 Inspections or have any questions about septic systems please do contact our Norton office on 877-378-4279 or visit www.septicpreservation.com

Happy Christmas!

Septic Preservation Services wants to wish everyone Happy Christmas for Monday! We are all looking forward to  celebrating with our friends and family. Of course nobody wants to be concerned about their septic systems over the holidays but it’s a good idea to be conscious of your water usage. When you have a septic system and are not on town sewer it is recommended to spread laundry loads out over a week rather than do multiple loads on one day which can overload your system. In the same vein try to spread out bath and showers, especially if you have a lot of visitors. If your septic system is designed and sized for a small family but it multiplies in size at holidays just try to be aware of your water usage to prevent problems occurring. Happy Holiday from the Septic Preservations Services Team!
