Septic Cleaning Will Help Improve Your Septic System’s Efficiency

Septic Preservation Services know that to keep your septic system working you need to maintain it. At a minimum you want to ensure that you have your septic tank pumped on a regular basis. How often depends on a variety of factors including the size of your septic tank and the use it gets but we would suggest every 3 -5 years. This changes to annually if you have a garbage disposal however. What you don’t want to do is pump too often. A properly maintained septic system should only be pumped as needed to avoid removing the “good” bacteria and to keep the system running smoothly. Sometimes just ‘pumping’ is not enough. Getting your tanks cleaned on a regular basis will also help to improve the efficiency of your septic system and keep it running smoothly. Septic Preservation Services takes pride in the work that we do, utilizing specialized miniature equipment to locate specific areas of your system, such as a sewer cam that is used to investigate the inside of your sewer lines, and jetting equipment to clean the pipes within the leach field. You can be sure that when we provide septic pumping and cleaning that your system is clean and ready to go! Today we are providing septic cleaning to customers in Charlestown, Westerly, Narragansett, Richmond, Portsmouth and Jamestown RI. If you require septic pumping or septic cleaning or if you have any questions please do contact our office on 877-378-4279 or visit https://www.septicpreservation.com

Septic Repairs in Maine to Prevent Unpleasant Septic Repercussions

Septic Preservation Services know that although there are many types of septic systems in use today they are all designed for each site and mostly work on the same principles. A conventional septic system consists of a septic tank, a distribution box and a drainfield, all connected by pipes, called conveyance lines. Your home’s wastewater flows into your septic tank where it is held and solids sink to the bottom and lighter scum floats to the top. The solids and scum are decomposed by bacteria and periodically pumped. The treated wastewater or effluent flows through the distribution box into your drainfield or leach field where it then slowly seeps into the subsurface soil where it is further treated and purified (secondary treatment). A properly functioning septic system does not pollute the groundwater. However a failing septic system can have many unpleasant repercussions such as:

  • cause a serious health threat to your family and neighbors,
  • degrade the environment, especially lakes, streams and groundwater,
  • reduce the value of your property,
  • be very expensive to repair,
  • and put thousands of water supply users at risk if you live in a public water supply watershed and fail to maintain your system.”

Therefore if you suspect your septic system is not operating correctly or you have concerns about your system do not put off contacting a professional. Today we have septic repair appointments in Hermon, Belmont, Belfast, Swanville, Palmero, Union and Alna ME. If you need to schedule a septic repair or if you have any questions or concerns about your septic system please do contact us on 877-378-4279 or visit https://www.septicpreservation.com

Sewage Grinder Pump Repair in Acushnet MA

Septic Preservation Services have been called to a customer’s property in Acushnet MA to repair their sewage grinder pump. This doesn’t sound especially appealing but has an important role in their septic system so needs to be operating correctly. A grinder pump is a wastewater conveyance device. Waste from water-using household appliances (toilets, bathtubs, washing machines etc) flows through the home’s pipes into the grinder pump’s holding tank. Once the wastewater inside the tank reaches a specific level, the pump will turn on, grind the waste into a fine slurry, and pump it to the septic tank. We have extensive experience with septic systems and repairing different elements of them including d-boxes, septic pumps and drain fields. We also provide septic upgrades and improvements such as the addition of risers, covers and effluent filters. When your septic system is more accessible, it is also much more safe and attractive. These goals can be achieved through the use of strong, durable risers and system covers. Once installed, homeowners are able to provide easy access to the system for future repairs, upgrades or cleaning services, eliminating the need to dig and excavate the system each time it needs to be pumped. The addition of an effluent filter in the outlet tee of your septic tank can extend the life of your septic system. We are at a customer property in Attleboro MA installing a septic system cover today in addition to providing septic repairs in Rochester and Lakeville MA.
