Septic Design For A Portsmouth RI Property

Septic Preservation Services know that if you need a septic design it is wise to go to a company that has experience designing septic systems in your specific area. Septic regulations can vary from town to town and certainly vary from state to state so you want to be sure that your septic design will be compliant because if it isn’t at best you may face delays or at worst you may face delays and extensive excavations to ‘fix’ any issues and vastly increased costs associated with this. Septic Preservation Services have been working in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Maine for over 25 years and therefore have extensive experience providing septic designs for our clients in these regions. We also have experience designing septic systems for our clients that work with the environment and our clients individual requirements. We know what system will work best for a property that is close to the ocean, has a small plot, is on a steep slope or has many other circumstances that will often require a septic system that is tailored to be the perfect fix for a specific property.

Today we are meeting with a client who has a property on a small plot in Portsmouth RI and we are discussing the options that they have for their septic design. We have extensive experience working in Rhode Island having previously provided septic system designs for customers in towns including Hopkinton, Cranston, Richmond and South Kingstown. Fall Planting Can Result in a Leach Field Repair Being Necessary

Septic Preservation Services know that in the fall many people are out raking leaves, pruning and generally getting their yards ready for winter. What most non gardeners do not realize is that for many tree varieties late August, September and October are also the best months to plant them. In fall, the tree can make new roots without having to feed the leaves. Water requirements are much lower without the leaves on the tree. To us it feels cool in fall, but that is actually the best temperature for root growth. Roots grow best in cool soil. A fall planting allows the tree to grow roots in fall and again early spring before leaves develop. This gives the tree a good chance to lay down a good set of roots before they need to collect water and nutrients for the leaves. Unfortunately when you are planting large shrubs or trees in your yard if you do so on your leach field you can unknowingly create a septic problem. The roots and sometimes weight of plants can actually damage your drain field which means that your septic system is no longer working correctly and you may need a leach field repair. Septic systems do an amazing job of returning liquids to the soil for purification but the whole system needs to be functioning correctly for this to happen. When septic system failure occurs, the conditions they create are dangerous. These can include:

Hazardous sewage surfacing in yard
Health hazards to children and pets
Noxious odors over large areas
Polluted streams and ponds
Sewage back-up in buildings
Contaminated wells
Breeding areas for mosquitoes

Today we are at a customer’s home in Portsmouth RI proving a leach field repair which has been damaged when they planed an orchard over it last year. The roots combined with heavy machinery being parked on to of the drainfield during construction have both lead to structural collapse of the leach field piping. A strong sewage odor and dampness over their yard was luckily a sign of a septic problem that the homeowners did not ignore. We can repair the damage so they do not have to worry about the consequences of an inoperative septic system. We also have other septic repairs scheduled today in North Kingstown, Jamestown, Narragansett, Exeter and Richmond RI. If you require a septic repair or leach field repair if you have any questions about septic systems please do call us at our office on 877 378 4279 or visit Septic Preservation Services

Many Properties In Maine Are Serviced By Septic Systems

Septic Preservation Services know that many properties in Maine are serviced by septic systems because they are not on town sewer. As you would expect many of these properties are in remote areas of the state where the closest ‘town’ is not that close at all. However what is perhaps surprising are the number of properties that are not remotely located but are also on a septic system to process their waste. Septic systems provide simple, effective onsite wastewater treatment. They allow groundwater to be recharged onsite making more clean water available for use and treat the effluent naturally and allow water to seep into the ground, which keeps moisture on site to help plants grow and replenish the water supply. If properly installed and maintained individual septic systems offer Maine property owners many environmental benefits in this beautiful state. However you do need to ensure that your septic system is maintained and is working correctly. If you are unsure if you system is working as it should or if you are selling or buying a property with a septic system it is usually a good idea to have a septic inspection to advise you of the current condition of the system and if there are any concerns. Today we have septic inspections scheduled in Richmond, Bowdoinham, Bowdoin, Topsham, Brunswick, Bath, Gardiner and Pittston Maine. If you require a septic inspection or if you have any questions about septic inspections or septic systems please do contact our office on 877-378-4279 or visit http://www.septicpreservation.com

Septic Cleaning Will Help Improve Your Septic System’s Efficiency

Septic Preservation Services know that to keep your septic system working you need to maintain it. At a minimum you want to ensure that you have your septic tank pumped on a regular basis. How often depends on a variety of factors including the size of your septic tank and the use it gets but we would suggest every 3 -5 years. This changes to annually if you have a garbage disposal however. What you don’t want to do is pump too often. A properly maintained septic system should only be pumped as needed to avoid removing the “good” bacteria and to keep the system running smoothly. Sometimes just ‘pumping’ is not enough. Getting your tanks cleaned on a regular basis will also help to improve the efficiency of your septic system and keep it running smoothly. Septic Preservation Services takes pride in the work that we do, utilizing specialized miniature equipment to locate specific areas of your system, such as a sewer cam that is used to investigate the inside of your sewer lines, and jetting equipment to clean the pipes within the leach field. You can be sure that when we provide septic pumping and cleaning that your system is clean and ready to go! Today we are providing septic cleaning to customers in Charlestown, Westerly, Narragansett, Richmond, Portsmouth and Jamestown RI. If you require septic pumping or septic cleaning or if you have any questions please do contact our office on 877-378-4279 or visit http://www.septicpreservation.com
